In this post, I tried to collect information about Long-COVID conditions, possible causes, and how Acupuncture can help to relieve some of the symptoms. Post COVID conditions CDC (Center for Disease Control) updated Sept. 16, 2021 Overview Although most people with COVID-19 get better within weeks of illness, some people experience post-COVID conditions. Post-COVID conditions are a wide range of new, returning, or ongoing health problems people can experience four or more weeks after first being infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. Even people who did not have COVID-19 symptoms in the days or weeks after they were infected can have post-COVID conditions. These conditions can present as different types and combinations of health problems for different lengths of time. Types of Post-COVID Conditions Some people experience a range of new or ongoing symptoms that can last weeks or months after first being infected with the virus that causes COVID-19. Unlike some of the other types of post-COVID conditions that tend only to occur in people who have had severe illness, these symptoms can happen to anyone who has had COVID-19, even if the illness was mild, or if they had no initial symptoms. People commonly report experiencing different combinations of the following symptoms:
Some people who had severe illness with COVID-19 experience multiorgan effects or autoimmune conditions over a longer time with symptoms lasting weeks or months after COVID-19 illness. Multiorgan effects can affect many, if not all, body systems, including heart, lung, kidney, skin, and brain functions. Autoimmune conditions happen when your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake, causing inflammation (swelling) or tissue damage in the affected parts of the body. While it is very rare, some people, mostly children, experience multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MIS) during or immediately after a COVID-19 infection. MIS is a condition where different body parts can become inflamed. MIS can lead to post-COVID conditions if a person continues to experience multiorgan effects or other symptoms. Caring for People with Post-COVID Conditions CDC, Updated Sept. 7, 2021 Having a post-COVID condition or supporting someone with a post-COVID condition can be challenging. It can be difficult to care for yourself or loved ones, especially when there are few or no immediate answers or solutions. However, there are ways to help relieve some of the additional burdens of experiencing or caring for someone with a new and unknown condition. Ways to Cope with Stress Experts are still determining which types of medications or treatments can help to relieve the effects of post-COVID conditions. However, there are established ways people can manage the stress associated with a post-COVID condition. Here are some steps you can do to help manage and cope with stress:

NADA Ear Acupuncture protocol for Addiction Treatment, Mood disorder, PTSD and Pain Ear acupuncture, or Auriculotherapy, is based on the principles of Chinese Medicine and is especially effective in the treatment of Addiction, Mood disorder, PTSD, and Pain. The National Acupuncture Detoxification Association (NADA) developed a 5 point auricular (ear) acupuncture protocol specifically for the treatment of addiction, which is used by more than 2000 drug and alcohol programs today. NADA is a non-for-profit training and advocacy organization, promoting community wellness through the use of standardized auricular acupuncture protocol for behavioral health, addiction, mental health, and disaster and emotional trauma (Nada website). The NADA treatment involves the gentle placement of 5 small disposable needles into specific sites of each ear. These sites correspond to different parts of the body. The 5 designated acupuncture point that are used include: Lung, Liver, Kidney, Shen men, and Sympathetic. The organ points (Lung, Liver and Kidney) promote organ recovery and detoxification. Shen men translates to "Spirit Gate" and is a powerful point to calm the mind and ease anxiety. The Sympathetic point relates to the autonomic nervous system and has a strong pain relieving and relaxing effect. Ear Acupuncture can help with:

They consist of plant based protein, soluble fiber, and lots of antioxidants. Additional they are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, B-vitamins, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron and Zinc. Advantages for your fascias: Chiaseeds: - Omega-3 fatty acids (Cell rejuvenation, faster regeneration) - Zinc (wound healing) Almond milk: - Zinc (Tissue reproduction, wound healing, immune response) - high valued protein ( Fascia repair) - Omega-3 fatty acids (anti-inflammatory, Cell rejuvenation) - Magnesium (Cell regeneration) Fruits (banana): - Vitamin A (regeneration of skin and connective tissue) - Vitamin C (Production of collagen) - Water (nourishes the fascias with fluid) - Potassium, Magnesium (necessary for optimum function of nerves and fascias, as well as cell regeneration) Try it and let me know your opinion! To put it simple , fascia is an opaque connective tissue, primarily collagen, beneath the skin that attaches, stabilizes, encloses, and separates muscles and other internal organs. Fascia stores and moves water, and carries voltage, acting like an electrical wiring system. There are layers of fascia that surround an entire muscle group, and each individual muscles. Also within each individual muscle, there are fascial layers that separate bundles of muscle fibers, as well as each individual muscle fiber. The fascia from one muscle then connects with the fascia from other muscles, and forms a network of connective tissue that integrates from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. Each layer of fascia allows each portion of the muscle to glide smoothly along each other as they contract and relax. When we look at the fascia as a system instead of individual pieces, it becomes apparent that the fascia is more than just a covering. Fascia’s role in the function of the body is much more complex than it may appear. Embedded within the fascia are many types of nerve endings and receptors that communicate with the central nervous system. Every movement we make changes the tension of the fascia in different parts of our body. As the tension changes, these receptors tell your brain a lot of information about where your joints are, what muscles to recruit, and how much force to generate. Proper function of the fascia allows for normal, coordinated, unimpeded movement patterns. Collagen fibers are the main structural component of this fascia (or connective tissue), which can be imagined as being microscopic cables that are bound together in a mesh to provide the body with its great strength and resilience. When we become injured, this delicate framework may become ruptured, triggering the inflammatory response in order to repair the damage. By laying down new collagen to provide the area with strength, it creates a condition of inelasticity within the fascia. Adhesion is the scar tissue that has resulted from the inflammatory response to injury of the fascia. Contractures are regions of "shortness" in our musculature, and will develop as a result of overuse (seen in athletes who do not stretch enough) or chronically poor posture.Contractures and adhesions both mean short, inelastic tissue. The damaged areas pull the body out of its natural state of alignment and balance, creating a compensation pattern, while the antagonistic muscle groups attempt to right this wrong go into a state of chronic spasm. It is these areas that are in chronic spasm that become fatigued and painful as they are overworked, tired, stretched out and weak. Where there is a shortened area, there will always be a lengthened area opposing it. This results in a "Tug of War", or compensation, where opposing muscle groups go into spasm, trying to balance out these adhesions and/or contractures. This then presents as misalignment, poor joint functioning, muscular imbalances, pain and loss of range of motion (ROM). Having a lack of available ROM will also lead to premature wear on joint surfaces and the pain that goes along with it. Unfortunately, the fascias are not capable of restoring the imbalances without assistance in first releasing the contractured areas - releasing these is the first step toward restoring balance. Foam rolling and regular massage therapy are effective methods of keeping the fascial layers gliding smoothly across each other. Icing can be helpful to minimize the pain and inflammation associated with myofascial conditions, but will not address the underlying cause. Sometimes more aggressive techniques are necessary to reestablish the proper function of the fascia, and therefore decrease pain and improve overall performance.
